A subset of AI focused on generating new content, including text, images, audio, and video, by learning from existing data. To generalize, GAI models create new content by introducing statistical “noise” based on patterns observed during model training. This noise applied to the latent space allows the model to produce output that is new but also mostly relevant. It should be noted that new content is not always relevant nor accurate resulting in output broadly referred to as hallucinations.
